Sketchbook Assignments are Due Monday

Attention Students in Cohort III – your second Sketchbook Assignments are due this Monday, March 19th. Please turn them in during Art class or leave them in my mailbox (Room 503) before 3:45pm on Monday. I’m looking forward to seeing your drawings.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Use pencils. No markers or crayons …and definitely no ink pens.
  • Fill the entire page. Be brave, draw big! Fill the entire page.
  • Spend 20–60 minutes with your drawing. You won’t get full credit for 5-minutes of scribbling.
  • I’m not interested in how “good” your drawing is. Show me effort!

If you misplaced your “Sketchbook Ideas” handout, you can get a new copy here.

Sketchbook Assignments

Listen up, middle-schoolers. During the 2nd-quarter, we’ll have a sketchbook homework assignment each week. Sketchbooks will be distributed during the first class of the week, and are due back at the end o the week. Easy enough, right?

If you misplaced your “Sketchbook Ideas” handout, you can get a new copy here.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Don’t use ink. Only pencil drawings will be accepted.
  • Fill the entire page. Be brave, draw big!
  • Take your time – nobody has ever gotten good at something by not trying. Spend the time and get better at drawing!
  • Add details. Everybody knows stick figures are boring; make your sketches interesting by adding details.
  • Relax, it’s just drawing. Have fun with it.
